Outpost Club Expands to Manhattan

MANHATTAN -- Renting in New York should be as easy as buying a cup of coffee. That’s why Brooklyn-based co-living startup Outpost Club is expanding across the East River with its first house in Manhattan, just a few blocks from Central Park.
The Central Park Manhattan House represents a new chapter for Outpost Club as it continues to further its mission to make living in New York more affordable while providing a built-in community for new members and removing the typical hassles between roommates.
“We’re working toward our goal to make living affordably and easy in all five boroughs of New York City,” Outpost Club CEO Sergii Starostin said. “Expanding into Manhattan is the next logical step for us, so we’re excited.”
The company currently has seven co-living houses: six in Brooklyn, in the Williamsburg, Boerum Hill, Bushwick, Flatbush and Bed-Stuy neighborhoods, and one house in Ridgewood, Queens.
The Central Park Manhattan House has 22 bedrooms across five apartments, each of which are fully furnished -- including a shared kitchen with all kitchen appliances and essentials, including pans, dishes, dish soap and detergent. All rooms at the house are private, and each room comes with a memory foam mattress, pillows, extension cords, bed linens and towels. Bathrooms throughout the house come with regularly re-stocked essentials like toilet paper and hand soap. All utilities are wired and ready for use. Tenants just need to bring their suitcases.
“Our end goal is to make it so anyone can find a place to live, sign a lease, pay and move in within a reasonable amount of time, just by using their phone,” Starostin said. “We do the legwork to make sure every potential housemate is thoroughly vetted so our members don’t have to.”
Membership with Outpost Club is a flexible, month-to-month commitment that does not require extensive documents, large deposits or guarantors, but the longer the commitment, the better the price. The minimum lease length is one month.
Private rooms at the Central Park Manhattan House start at $1490.
Outpost Club was founded in 2016 by a team who knows what it’s like to move to new places and start from scratch.
