#MemberMonday: Franco Palomo

This week's #MemberMonday will introduce you to Franco Palomo, a budding architect who lives in the Bed-Stuy House. Read on to learn more about his projects and what his mom's biggest complaint about him is.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and currently studying architecture at UT Austin. Being in architecture school has allowed to study and work abroad in some amazing places. Last year I had the opportunity to study and travel through Europe with some of my classmates. We visited 12 different countries in 4 months. Now I’m currently doing a 6-month internship for an architecture firm in Lower Manhattan. I’ll be wrapping up the internship in a few weeks and heading back to Austin to finish my last semester. I have no clue where life will take me after that!
In my spare time I enjoy listening to music, going to concerts, watching movies, drawing and taking photos. New friends say I’m easy-going. Old friends tell me I need to work on my texting. Roommates would say I need to go out more. Co-workers say I’m always snacking. Mom says I never call.
What’s your favorite Outpost memory?
The Knickerbocker House! I met some of the coolest people there. Will always remember the countless nights we either stayed in and watched movies or went out as a group to our local bar. These are the types of nights that turn roommates into family.
Do you have a favorite place in Brooklyn?
I really enjoy walking around Williamsburg. Gives me hipster Austin, Texas, vibes that make me feel at home in a different city. The architect in me loves that area because of Domino Park … such a nicely designed park with a great view of Manhattan. 12/10 would recommend.
What are you currently working on?
At the office I’m currently working on a few things: a renovation of an apartment building on the Upper East Side, a pavilion in Miami and a synagogue in upstate NY. Other tasks done at work include: trying to look busy, buying plane tickets, thinking of clever Instagram captions (@franco.cean), writing this Member Monday and calling my mom.
