#MemberMonday: BKLYN Commons

Every week Outpost features a different member in our #MemberMonday series, but today we decided to think a bit outside the box and feature one of our longest community members - the beautiful family-owned co-working and event space BKLYN Commons.

With locations in Flatbush and Bushwhick, BKLYN Commons offers the premier solution to your work and social needs. Like any co-working space, BKLYN Commons covers all the basics with scanning and printing services, high-speed internet, and completely furnished offices and conference rooms. Complimentary coffee, tea, and filtered water are available at all times in the fully stocked kitchen, and there are ping-pong and foosball tables throughout the building for when you need to catch a break. Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl you can access your office or shared desk space whenever is most convenient for you with your 24/7 access, and from 9-5 onsite staff are on hand to answer any questions and offer reception services for any guests you may entertain.
But BKLYN Commons separates itself from other co-working spaces through its dedication to community and creating opportunities for members to organically develop meaningful and authentic relationships. The social calendar for both locations are always full, with at least one major monthly networking event and smaller gatherings throughout the week. Every week kicks off with the community breakfast where members can get ready for the week together over a light meal. Members also have the opportunity to catch up later in the week with the community happy hour, or during one of the grander monthly networking events - like the one coming up this Thursday (which you can still attend).
Fortunately, BKLYN Commons members don’t have to wait for an event to socialize. With three floors of offices and shared space there is always a chance to meet someone new and always an opportunity to launch an new business relationship. We spoke with Nicholas Smith, General Manager, who brilliantly summed up the BKLYN Commons experience by saying it’s the business of connections and networking. Smith told us there are plenty of offices that hold open office hours and invite other members to drop in and see what services are offered and what collaborations can be built. With a combination of solo entrepreneurs and established companies and nonprofits, partnerships are constantly evolving and businesses always growing.
Now - to the good news for Outpost Members. Thanks to our partnership, Outpost Members get a 50% discount on open desk membership, and the chance to win two free tickets to this Thursday’s networking event on the gorgeous rooftop patio.
